Hello
Can someone tell me what the "Rep" number refers to in the members info area of their posts?
Rep is short for reputation. If you click on the Star of David down by the Thanks, you can add or subtract reps. Depending on if you like or dislike the post. At one time the reps were up by Location under the avatar. If you remember all the members that could do no better than type in "I'd do her". All had negative reps.
Ok, so I tried it and it's like an anonymous "Thank you"?, because I wasn't able to do a "Rep" and a "thanks" for the same post.
Also, I couldn't do more than 1 "Rep" within a 24 hr period?
Any reason why BU has this "Rep" thing when it can only be used once per day and "Thank You's" are multi-use and display who appreciates a post?
As long as we're on the subject...I just tried also. I hadn't use the star at all before and still received "You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later." message.
Also, if the star adds Rep can we assume the triangle next to it subtracts and can be used only once a day?
True, you can only give one "like" per post. As far as only one rep per 24 hour, I just tried and had no problems giving more than one rep. AfterDark, you can give either positive or negative reps from the star. The triangle is for reporting posts. If you find spam, dead posts, questionable material and you want to report it, use the triangle.
Yes, I added this 'rep', to get it more active.
Just now I could 4 reps in a row, to more members.
Maybe crewmembers have a bit more powers, but I will look into this.
Edit: I've looked, and set it to 10 reps you can give in a period of 24 hours.
(Admins are excluded to this). But you can't give 2 reps to the same user in a row, this means you have to give a rep to another member before you can give the first a new rep.
When you hover your mouse arrow over the second colored line (green for most members) under the members nickname, you see his rep.
And you can give a rep first and a 'thanks' second for the same post, the other way around is not possible. (At least I can)
